Marmara region, Bursa, Bolu, Bilecik, Eskisehir, Kutahya and Ankara are also within the port's hinterland.

Industrial zones such as Gebze, Tuzla and Imes on the Asian Coast of Istanbul and the major industrial centers of our country such as the automobile factories and the chemistry industry are within the port's hinterland. Half of the Top 500 Companies are located in Istanbul, Kocaeli and Adapazari.

The port enjoys a considerable geographic advantage for being closely located to Istanbul and Kocaeli, the main centers for Tank Terminal and Vehicle Terminal sectors.
