Evyap Port Container Terminal was commissioned in April 2004 and currently 4 lines have regular, weekly calls.
The terminal, thanks to its location, provides the container lines it serves with the facility to access to the local industrialists in a manner distant from the city's traffic jam, economic and rapid.
A world class service is provided with brand new equipment, professional and
well – experienced operation staff and the port automation system.
The Container Terminal is managed by well – experienced staff, and cranes, stackers and other equipment are operated by long – term experienced operators.
The current 150,000 TEU/ Year capacity is intended to be increased to 350,000 TEU/ Year upon the investments in 2007. The operations can be performed fast and in a quality fashion thanks to state – of – the – art technology equipment, the reliable and robust data – processing infrastructure and the professional administration.
Container drawing times, which used to take all day, were reduced to minutes thanks thereto.
The customers'vehicles can comfortable make multiple runs for the ports’ having easy access to the transportation arteries and being far from the city’s traffic jam. Hence, the transportation costs are reduced and merchandise procurement times are shortened in case of urgent merchandise needs.
The customers, as well as utilizing their own transportation companies, can also purchase container transportation service from numerous transportation companies, which have offices located near the port, in case of necessity.
Reefer Container field is used for the warehousing of such containers that require heating / cooling. Possible air – conditioning breakdowns can be detected even during night time thanks to the automatic breakdown warning system, which is active 24 hours a day, and the breaking of the cold chain is prevented by initial response.
Empty containers are stored in the container outfield located near the port.
Wide, high non – standard containers can be handled while opentop and flatrack containers can be subjected to internal filling and internal loading by the experience on general cargo and the equipment facilities. Operations such as metal-sheet rolls, marble discharge from standard containers can also be performed.
